About The ASCI Urban Alumni Network
Dear Friends,
![]() The Urban Governance Area at ASCI has been working with policy makers and practitioners to improve urban governance, infrastructure and service delivery. In this endeavour we have been fortunate enough to have shared a synergistic relationship with you, our alumni, through management development training programmes, workshops and conferences. Our alumni represent a rich and diverse group of over 3000 elected representatives, policy makers, administrators, practitioners from national, state and local government occupying leading positions in your organizations and involved in advancing the urban agenda. Many of you continue to remain in touch with us continually enriching our analysis and contribution to urban governance. You share your fascinating experiences, knowledge, cutting edge experiences and interventions in addressing complex urban problems. Over the years we have grown to nurture each other – ASCI as a development training institution and the alumni who are the real catalysts, change agents and integrators. We believe that the benefits of knowledge sharing and experience would benefit the larger urban sector and are therefore on an endeavour to formalize this largely informal interaction. This website is a platform for our Alumni to come together to share their experiences, collaborate and network with their peers and continue to remain engaged with ASCI for continual learning. World over, horizontal (peer to peer) learning is valued as the most effective way to translate ‘ideas to action’. This network is an attempt to create a platform for horizontal learning between our Alumni. The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India has recognized ASCI as the "Centre of Excellence" in urban governance and a wealth of urban sector knowledge is being generated under this programme. This network would enable us to stay connected with our Alumni and share urban sector knowledge for continuous learning and change. "Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes" - Peter Senge Thank you for joining the network and look forward receiving your comments, suggestions and guidance for improving this initiative. With best wishes, V. Srinivas Chary |
